Dogs, Wieners, Dumbledore and MORE!

Megan, Andrew, Rob and I went to Revolution last night. Megan and I got there first, while Rob was wrapping up the baseball game and Andrew was deciding if he wanted to go out or not. Andrew texted saying that he was coming but that he didn't have any money for the $5 cover.

So I'm outside waiting for him so I can pay his cover, and the two awesome, huge, white dogs (Siren and Chloe) are out there. Well, Indiana Jones is out in the courtyard, too, hulahooping. Apparently Siren and Chloe weren't down with Indie. They went after him barking and growling. It got interesting when he hit and kicked at them, and one of the pups bit him.

Well, he starts yelling about the dogs, and the girl taking cover at the entrance, who owns the dogs, tells him that if he wouldn't hit them, they wouldn't bite him. Sounded logical to me.

Still at Revolution, but later now, there is this older couple that comes in all the time. The guy is hysterical. He jams out and dances around to whatever band is playing. He has this long, crooked walking stick. This night, he was wearing a long black robe. We now refer to him as Dumbledore, thanks to Megan. Andrew took a video of him dancing with his camera. If he can get it uploaded, I will link to it.

I forgot to mention about my trip to Columbia with the men's basketball team that I had the opportunity to meet and have lunch with Megan's parents. They are awesome. Her dad is a trip. We wound up seeing, and subsequently following, the Oscar Mayer wienermobile around downtown Columbia. The man saw the vehicle and immediately made a turn and began following it. It was classic! Megan's tale is more detailed.

On a final note (and please quit reading now if bizarre, sexual things bother you), there's a character and plotline on Showtime's "The L Word" (you think you know . . . but you have no idea) that really has me confused. Help me out here folks. Pay attention, 'cause this gets weird just a little:

Moira is a lesbian involved in a relationship with Jenny. Moira has decided she wants to transgender over to Max. S/he has started taking male hormones which have been acquired by Billi, a gay male party promoter. MoiraMax has also started wearing prosthetic male genitalia at the encouragement of Jenny.

Seriously, if you're weirded out by this so far, quit reading. I mean it.

OK, you still with me? Then here we go: MoiraMax winds up alone with Billi in a back room of the nightclub Billi works at. Billi tells MoiraMax that s/he is hot. Billi then proceeds to perform oral sex on MoiraMax's prosthetic member. I mean, seriously, what's that good for??? Last I checked, no one wins here.

As if that weren't confusing enough, on the next episode Billi and MoiraMax find themselves alone in the nightclub during the day. Well, this time it gets hotter and heavier. That's right sports fans, MoiraMax does Billi on the bar. So what I want to know is, when Moira becomes Max, will he then become a gay man? I mean, this is the classic age-old tale of lesbian turns transgendered turns gay. You see it every day.

OK, for any of those who know me, you know that I am very open-minded and have no judgment on anyone -- well except for intelligence level. Live and let live. But c'mon, this is a bit much!

So Much Catching Up

OK, lots to cover. Let's get started.

Phil Pritchett
Why do drunk people feel the need to sing to the lead singer of a band at bar concerts? Seriously. I was at Bourbon Street bar last weekend to hear Phil Pritchett, who I hadn't seen in like 2 years, and this guy is standing up at the stage -- drunk off his ass -- singing loudly right at Phil. He was moving wherever Phil went and actually trying to sing into the mic. Get a life, dude. Or at least, sober up. It's not like it's Cowboy Mouth.

Lea is the coolest
Thanks for the shoutout Lea! Nick and Lea are two of my favorite people, but I never get to see them. We need to fix that.

Columbia, MO
I went to Columbia with the men's basketball team on Monday evening for the game against Mizzou Tuesday night. It was honestly one of the best trips I've ever been on with a team. Not only did we win (for the first time ever in Columbia) but the whole trip was very well organized. Even though we got fogged out of Texas and had to stay Tuesday night, our basketball operations folks found hotel rooms and got everything together quickly to make the change in plans run very smoothly. Matt told me at half that the two choices from the charter company were to stay another night in Columbia or fly to Lubbock for the night before coming back to College Station. I believe my exact response was, "Well, we're not going to Lubbock." I hate that place.

One last thing . . .
Have you seen the Woolite Dark commercials yet? Every time I turn channels, it seems like it is on. The slogan for their new product is: "Get your blacks blacker than black." REALLY?!?!? I mean, what middle-aged white guy came up with that???

Packer Response

So . . . Tami, Andrew, Ashlynn and Bob and Wanda (Tami's parents) and I are at Olive Garden tonight for what was the longest meal ever. The only saving grace was the people I was with (and the food was good). I mean seriously . . . TWO HOURS!

Anyway, so after Andrew and I challenge each other to eat our whole meals after about 10 bread sticks and 8 plates of salad . . . AND after Tami ordered not one but two desserts for the whole table to share . . . we waited on the check. And waited. And waited. What I'm trying to say here is the service was less than stellar.

So I'm sitting there and notice Andrew is shooting me the shocker in the subtle way that only he can. So, of course, I respond with an oh-so-subtle packer. If you don't know what a shocker or packer is, ask Megan.

Well, I look up and see this guy and girl walking past our table, right as I'm putting up the packer. The guy looks at me and waves. I about fell out. I don't know exactly why he waved. I've never seen him before in my life. I hope he wasn't letting me know he was down with the packer. Eww.

-----

In other news, Megan and I went to Revolution at about 4:45 for a cup of naughty coffee for her (I just like saying that) and a cup of Chai Latte for me. It was cool. There were only two other people there, and they have free wireless. I think I am going to try to do that more often. It was a great way to end a dreary, cold Friday.

Well Hello!

OK, it's official: my ADD has a new toy.

As if e-mail, cell phone, text messaging and instant messaging weren't sensory overload enough, I now have an official blog. While I have been reading and occasionally contributing on a few blog sites for awhile, I have resisted the urge to create my own . . . until now.

Well, let's see how long this keeps my attention!
